    Mustang, agreed- I love reggae!
Have you ever heard Hugh Mundell? He has a CD, "Africa Must be Free by 1983", that is probably the best reggae I've ever heard. I'm telling you, this kid was killed when he was about 17, but if he had not been killed Hugh Mundell MIGHT have become the next Bob Marley.
Trust me Mustang, he's that good. Check it out!

Carl, on the Eminem thing (I'm not a huge fan of his, I just like a few songs)- from everything I've read, it appears that his mother abused him pretty badly when he was young. So is he defaming character, or just singing from his experiences?
And honestly, as far as hip hop goes, it does get a bit boring hearing about "guns, money, and bitches"... At least Eminem raps about things he knows about, even if they are whacked out...

This could be really good- debating the musical merits of Eminem on a WW2 forum!

    :D :D :D

If ( When?? ) Eminem gets to hell there will be at least doubles of Moby and Britney there...I sorta understand his hate at Britney but how did the thing with Moby start?? ;)

Mustang... He only put out two albums because he was killed at such a young age- I think 16. But, I've listened to tons of reggae over the years- mainstream (Bob M., Bunny Wailer, Tosh, more...) and some less well known stuff (King Tubby, Agustus Pablo, dub stuff...)... And Hugh Mundell probably tops all of them. Yes, even Marley. He has an absolutely incredible voice, and his production work is top-of-the-line.

Maybe it's just me, but Mundell is the best!
Amazon.com has both of his albums- with samples. Just do a search in amazon's music area for "Hugh Mundell".

    Charlie - if ever you're throwing a party, give me a shout ! ;)

I'm with you on the decent reggae, Crazy - into Junior Murvin & Keith Hudson, myself....

I kind of listen a lot of different music types around here... electronic music (which I hate), stupid and loveable pop, dance and some Caribean. I like Celia Cruz a bit... 'La vida es un carnaval', some of the musical themes in the excellent film, winner at Cannes Love's a bitch. :D

Went to Amazon and listen to some samples. He did have a nice voice. It probably would've gotten a lot deeper if he had lived a while longer. I like the low pitch songs, not the high pitch songs. Maybe if I had a better bass speaker....

So the Forum provides a cultural service... ;)

As a confirmed 'old f*rt' I'd never heard of the 'foo fighters' until Carl von Mannerheim mentioned them above. Skipping channels on TV last night, caught this really    - sounding band playing to a bemused-looking 'Top of the Pops' audience. Maybe rock isn't quite dead after all....
