I'll give you Bruce, but how about any U2 zealots out there? Oh, of course everyone knows of their "Joshua Tree" release, but what about some of their earlier cuts. Right now, as I type, I am listening to "Achtung Baby" just about as loud as these old ears can have it, and with out the Mrs. tuning it down. Sounds just right about now! Bill
ok, lets all show our ages... Supertramp (Dreamer and all their albums) Pink Floyd everything bar the wall album Average White band. Stranglers, madness, the jam Marc Bolan and lets not forget the Beatles....
Im more into Nu Metal and Heavy Metal myself, stuff like Linkin Park, CKY, Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, P.O.D, Adema and Rob Zombie, stuff like that. I also dont mind some rap, as long as theres not swearing in every sentence .
Hi Urqh - Hey, let's do. Why not? We've earned every bleeding year of it. And, let us not forget, Traffic, Small Faces, Robin Trower, Journey, Ten Years After, Mountain, Blind Faith, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, The Who, CCR, Kansas, etc., etc., etc. You know Urqh, I think you just might be closer in age to myself than I thought! Bill
I started to listen to music in the late 70´s with Queen, Abba ( yes...) and Suzi Quatro, then AC/DC, Motörhead ( teen years...) and then the futuristic rock with Ultravox, Classix Nouveaux, Durans, Gary Numan, John Foxx, etc. Oh yeah, and U2 with "Boy" and so on. They had a lot of edge in their music like " Sunday bloody Sunday " in the early 80´s. Actually I was totally bored with "With or without you " and ´"Achtung Baby" was rather risque but worked well..!! How about some " Lemon"??
Fascinating Kai, you started listening to music in the 70’s and I stopped. Because of Abba, Suzi Quatro, AC/DC, Motörhead, Ultravox, Classix Nouveaux, Durans, Bob Marley and the Wankers……… Sven Ake Hogberg är kungen! No.9
Last night Bruce Springsteen in Helsinki! Yeah, great show, all three hours non-stop! I think the man just gets more energy the longer he plays, I think he could tire the audience and keep going for hours... No "Born in the USA" but we got the "River", which is one of my favourites!!!! Worth every penny for sure!
The concert was great! Bowie was in a joyful mood and we heard 2 and 1/2 hours of his music. The great hits: modern love, ashes to ashes, let´s dance, Fame, China girl,Back to Sufragette city, Hello Spacceboy etc etc and greatest of all, the acoustic version of Loving the alien!! Totally worth the money and I had a place some 20 meters from the man so indeed a great Friday to start the weekend!!
I dont know if any of you have heard of this band, but System of a Down is a fav of mine. Other than that I'm pretty flexible. Beatles, a little Queen, Evanescence, Godsmack, METALLICA!, and the one and only Spinal Tap (if you consider them a band). Rock will never die!
I like a wide varitiy of stuff. I like lot of jazz and swing, especially 40's swing. Plus I like Tower of Power (swing/funk/rock/jazz), and 60's and 70's music. Also, my favorite modern swing band is Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. A little 80's music is O.K. here and there.
I can't stand Rap But I just recently discovered an "older" group called Skinny Puppy. It's like an industrial-rock mix...really neat. Anyone else heard of them? DUCE
amen...no I've never heard of them. right now I'm watching an Evanescence music video...really really bizzare...
Excellent band though. If you look up their bio you'll find that they're actually a Christian Rock band...listen/look at the lyrics and you'll see what I mean DUCE
ah yes...Christian Rock. Ever listened to DC Talk? the innocent days...I'll look into them they sound pretty interesting. A Thousand Foot Crutch is pretty good too.
