Forgpot to mention that I got two new pics.

    1) EKII award ceremony Early E/Front winter scene. Check out the expressions on those mens faces. Not a one of them seem to give a damn about receiving that award as well as probably had a renewed Russian Offensive to worry about.
    2) A nice hidden MG-34 MG-nest early war pic.

I might bite the bullet again and try for two more pix this eve beccause-these two feature a GJ Officer with the KC and I think he is Micheal Possinger-a man I met 10 years ago in Germany and had a 2 hour dinner wiht him at Forsthaus Graseck.

Wow! Very nice picture Erich! I would love to have a picture like that. For those who don't know about the Altmark:

It was a ship that was in a fjord in Norway which contained some 300 British P.O.Ws, it was attacked by the british and the P.O.Ws were rescued. Hitler thought that since the Norwegians did nothing to prevent this, they were not neutral toward Germany and is part of why Norway was attacked.

yes Vegar really nice the chap that has sold me this pic had the foto enlarged quite a bit and I was sold on it due to that very reason plus the picturesque view though not a very happy circumstance for any of those involved the Germans, British or Norwegians. am searching to see what real activities the Uckermark played in the Atlantic and later the Pacific as she was an important ship the British wanted to sink and as it was accidents do occur like I explained briefly when several fires started within the Uckermark and then explosions which set other ships and the harbor on fire. Because of this incident in Japan, Germany/Japans relationship came to a new low and never was the same during the rest of the war. Could of it been sabotage ?

Ok C lets see those new pics . . .

a very interesting small momento Kai. we are so used to the other Allied medals, badges and know nothing of what was presented to Finnish personell.

say any luck on determining in your Hekto fotos the type of guns onboard during firing practice ?

Just came back with these two Ausweisses. I have already quite a few rare temporary ones dating from the chaos of Summer 1940, but these two are the first ones I see for refugees that are official printed ones and for two members from the same family (a grandfather and his 7 year old son). They are bilingual documents that were printed in three copies each and allowed the holders to get a free train ticket to get home.

Apparently on august 15th the return of refugees was officially encouraged and accelerated by granted them free travel documents. These two are from October 1940 and are for a wealthy familly living on rue de Rivoli in Paris. (this street is in a luxurious neignbourhood) .They wer ementn to be shown both to French and German authorities and are bilingual.

Lots of goodies to come soon, all brought back this weekend, some only minutes ago! Free French, Vichy French , German and U.S. relics found this weekend! There is so much I'll need some time to scan it. The best items come from a Free French sailor on the Triomphant and helped the evacuation of British troops from Nauru and other places just before the Japanese captured them. It's a great story and I will do some research about this and post it in a seperate thread. Then i found a German Heer stickpin , French Officer cavalry trousers, a U.S 1918 dated mess kit, another Petain portrait (yes, yet another one! ) . A Paris liberation propaganda poster, and much more.

Zwei mehr fotos fur das Abend (Sorry Ulrich and for those others who speakala German)

I got two more pix for this eve.

    1) a totally destroyed Russian BT Tank. Id sure as shooting would have hated being a part of that tanks crew or anywhere near it when it disintegrated.

    2) Just to snipe a jerk whom always snipes me, I picked this next one up because it looks cool, was fairly cheap and the sniper I sniped had been the last bidder on it moments before I arrived on the scene. This one shows a Sergeant with an MP-40. You might think nothing special about that but-to me it tis.

then a Paris police résistant propaganda caricature . Funny thought when you realize some were in the resistance whereas others deported innocents. This of course was edited by those who served the Resitance and wanted to make a clear difference between those who fought the Gerrans and those who collaborated.

yes you are right up on the frame work of the German Landser getting butt kicked. have seen this pin before too . . . . . with a national Militia symbol with backdropped oak wreath
the pin because of the turned head to the right may have been worn by German police NCO's for non military wear
