Thanks Sky, the guy had more but it was also a matter of budget, so I picked up a few nice things that are not so common as the regular medals and binos etc.. The guy also had a Luftschutz shell, two brown Arbeitsbücher (one with the birdie), a Jerrycan. I also saw French dogtags an Adrian helmet , some UK amno pouches, a U.S. haversack , some tabacco rations and other nice things elsewhere.

I never roamed the local fleamarkets......I guess it would be worth a try though. On sunday I will go to the "Bourse" in Arlon, I'm looking for a first type barrelband for the M1 Carbine. I'm on a rather tight budget right now, did some big spending lately, so i have to go "mollo"!

Militaria fairs in Belgium are famous here too, especially the Ciney one, though more and more China copies invade the places and prices go mad there. This is why I hunt in flea markets and make finds that really make my day and that I couldn't have dreamt of in a fair. I will go to a fair only if I am looking for something specific whereas the flea market will be the surprise aspect. For instance I picked up a pair of German Pionier schäre (small model) . I had never even seen one before and guess what another seller had the large model at the same fair. Talking about probability hein?

awesome kai, that is a pretty rare grouping. Does it mean the vet fought all the way from 1939 until 1944?

Yes, some Finns had to fight all those years. I recall that practically the Germans had been pushed out from Finland by New Year 1945 to Norway, but still some firing from both sides occurred until spring 1945. The war is considered finished by April 27th 1945 in Lapland between Finns and Germans.

I got another Corps of Engineers compass! It was cheap as dirt on ebay!
It's another Superior Magneto manufactured, dated 5-1944. It came with a WWII carrying pouch.

That might very well be possible! When I was four and a half I got lost in a huge maize field! My grandfather and his buddies were hunting rabbits and they had told me to wait for them by the cars.....it was too boring so I took of on my own! It took them quite a while to find me :)

Well here's my latest Brad, picked up only hours ago at a flea market. It's the French woounded medal which wa sused in both world wars. My enemal modle seems to be the older type. I also picked up a batch of signal magazines from 1941 (French language version) . I will scan a few of them later for you all
