All right, my thoughts. I felt bad for the Dutch as I felt they truly were robbed of a win. I'm still learning the sport, I admit, but feel I have a grasp on the whole, and only need to figure out the nuances of the game. I felt the second break by Robben should have been a penalty kick. He was in the box when a Spanish arm wrapped around his waist and tried to pull him away from the ball. I give full credit to Robben for fighting through it, but since he didn't fall a scream like someone ripped his arm off and beat him with it, he didn't get the penalty. I was upset about the one yellow that came some two minutes after the Spanish player fell to the ground and refused to get back up. The ref seemed to assume that if he was still down a penalty must have taken place. De Jong? What the hell was he thinking? I don't think the MMA would have called that legal. Congrats to Spain anyway. They certainly deserved the victory, but to all teams who qualify for the next world cup, can you show us in the US some better play? We can get what we saw this year from the MLS. Slow and lazy play.
personally Mike, the US had great potential but it seems lady L was not on our side with the stupid "illegal-no goals given us" as par for the course oh well lets see if Spain can be as strong 4 years from now. Must admit surprised as the two teams that did play for the final 2 hot spots as South /Central America got trounced early on now for the TdF, Lance is whining and he is out of the picture; now for some new young fresh talent with fresh legs to grapple the Alpen on the morrow
See that: http://www.ww2f.com/sport-athletics/38192-who-will-win-fifa-world-cup-south-africa-3.html#post504182 The referee should have left the Netherlands with nine from the first part. He forgot two penaltys ... Today, Johan Cruyff has criticized the dirty game of Holland ..He is for Holland something like Mikel Jordan is for you.
