Now a new book, "World War II on the Web" -- on sale today, Veterans Day -- serves as a guide to more than 100 of the top 100 WWII sites. According to the publisher, the book includes detailed reviews of the sites; ratings of each site's content, aesthetics and navigation; a list of more than 140 other sites, including URLs and brief descriptions; and a free CD-ROM with links to all the sites in the books. "World War II on the Web," by historian/college professors J. Douglas Smith and Richard Jensen, is published by SR Books and costs $24. I wonder if this site as well as Whermacht-awards and Feldgrau are among the 100--or the others listed?
I can almost bet, and I am hope I am wrong but any site with any German material has probably not been mentioned.....only sites dealing with US matter eh ? E
I wouldnt be surprised--more "politically correct crap" Maybe we should publish our own website list--you can bet that at least half would be German related. (Sigh) I wonder when the sorry attitudes that some of these pc'ers, will finally change for the better?? Probably never. or most likely when the last ww2 vet passes away then being too late and noone to be able to stand up to these pc freaks.
Yes quite correct. I think Otto is getting a pretty big listing going for the links main pages.....though there are of course 100's out there. E
Very good questions. Unfortunately, I have no answers since I have not seen an actual copy of the book. If I come across it in Barnes & Noble, I will sit down in the cafe with a copy and take some notes on what sites it covers.
Hi Crapgame--I checked the book when last at B&N and did some copying. I copied also about 20++websites down but have been too lazy and then busy--to post it. If you post before I do on it--i'll just add what you might have left out. I have the info in front of me as we speak but--I dont have time to post it today.
Seems like an unnecessary book, I mean if you have access to the internet you'll find the pages sooner or later anyway. What do you think, I think it has just been published to make some more money. regards
