    WW2 was the first organised international war when more civilians died than
    military ,
    modern wars are based on the destruction of a country ability
    to wage war , not simply to defeat it's army , the bombing of civilians in
    cities , the destruction of the ecomomy , infrastructure , transports and
    energy networks is seen as legitimate .
    the french revolution created the nation in arms ,
    WW1 the material war, the war production race ,
    WW2 the total war , when civilian and military is seen as a distinction without
    a difference .
