Well, if there is sufficent interest with forum members we could do a paper exercise where each participant takes either a division or corps and basically writes orders etc as part of a historical WW 2 battle. Possibilities for battle selection: Ardennes Offensive: Divisional. Well known, lots of information available. Operation Typhoon: Corps / Army. Not so well known but fluid with lots of room for alternatives. Singapore 1941/42: Divisional. Managable size, good possibilities for alternate outcomes. North Africa: Divisional. Managable size. Single operation selection from whole campaign would be done. Good possibilities for alternate outcomes. General outline of play: Daily orders per a to be published format. That way everyone is inputing the same minimal information. Scoring system based on outcomes. This way players will have some idea where they are at and a "winner" can be determined. Doing one of these is similar to doing a battlefield tour with a good guide. You get alot of historical context and flavor out of it. Of course, in part your ability to succeed is going to be based on your ability to research the actual battle as well as your knowledge of military operations in general.
