    Nipolit it was.
"a lump of Nipolit, cast or cut to the desired shape, drilled and tapped for the igniter, and that was that" -How Nipolit (hand)grenade was born, by Ian V. Hogg, The Encyclopedia of Infantry Weapons of WWII.

    Martin, over to you

"Germany will win because it is morally superior"

    or something like that...??

If not then is it one of these two that happened in Sept 1944?

    1. Volksturm created
    2. V2 bombs

"I have just made a momentous decision. I shall go over to the counter-attack, that is to say here (pointing to a map on the table), in the Ardennes, with the objective--Antwerpen."

(Seemed like a good idea at the time :D )

    My apologies for the delay.

    Staying with quotes...

"This war is only a continuation of the last, but very great differences in its character are apparent. In the last war millions of men fought by hurling masses of steel at one another. Prodigious slaughter was the consequence. In this war nothing of this kind has yet appeared. It is a conflict of strategy, organisation, technical apparatus, science, mechanics, and morale."

    Who, when, where?
