Are you talking about "rotating" conning towers? Like on the Rodn(ol) & Nelson(ol) because they look like tankers, and their names end in (ol) , or the "Cherry Trees" because they were cut down by Washington (treaty)....
or the Hood (a very cool thing, to turn like a turret) ?

Well, you hit it when you mentioned the 2 faux oil tankers built by the British.

    Correct answer, Nelson Class.

    Your question is next.

Sorry for the "Shotgun" answer, I was obviously unsure.
    Most generous of ye.

Name the Allied "code names" for at least ...7... Japanese float planes.

I will stay with the floatplane theme.

Name the fastest floatplane produced and used in combat during WWII. ie no one off aircraft or prototypes. Something with over 100+ produced. This wipes out the Spitfire. Also the speed used is at sea level.

Well since the Japanese had the best? seaplanes, and the Rufe was a Zero with 20% less performance, I'll guess the...
    Kawanishi N1K Kyofu/Rex

I've no idea of production numbers, but it was a Frank with floats.

I am going to go with the Aichi E13A "Jake"
Though slower than what Skunk posted it's the fastest I know(for a fact) had more than 100 built
    Speed 375Km/h

Only 89 Rex's were built. If you had stayed with your first guess I would have taken the Rufe for a correct answer but you did'nt so now you have to guess the other plane. Not Japanese and not a Spitfire. 577 were built.

First time for everything. Would the answer be the Macchi Castoldi MC 72, an Italian float plane? It's rated speed is 709.209 kmh (382.9 knots, 440.681 mph).

As Slip said, another "acorn" rooted out. If not for the hints, who knows.

    RBFM
    What does it stand for?
    Who were they?
    When were they formed?
Who was their #1 Boy (vehicle)?
