Wrong. None of the footage was colorized b/w.

I have started to watch them and I have heard that they got some of their facts wrong. Someone said that when they said that the footage was from 1939 they were wrong because someone saw a car that wasn't around until 41. If that's true I don't know but the footage is amazing! I am really glad that they have it. I wonder if there is a way to get all of the WWII footage put from the archives on to DVD. No voice overs or anything like that just straight WWII footage.

Thats probably true i mean with a bunch of undiscovered footage, it may have been documented wrong. But it was still amazing...

I read that the ratings for all the nights were 2.6 million viewers.

They touted that all this film was previously unseen and in different words from E of course but meaning that some of this footage has been showed and for many years at that, I too have noticed quite a bit of that footage as seen used in other Docs and also in Movies too. So E, is correct in what he says.

You will find that most of the footage you see of WWII Docs was filmed in B&W but on Color film that was developed in B&W. They developoed in in B&W mainly because it was cheaper to do so.

I loved the series because the story was told in the words of the people who fought in the war. I really have to invest in that DVD.
