    I just received my Father's "Notice of Seperation From the U.S.Navy" dated 13 October 1945, and I need some info.

    His rank is given as "Lieut., (D)L USNR,

    What does (D)L stand for?

    Most likely for me would be line officer qualified to stand deck watch.
