I have that one waiting on the shelf for its turn. Kai when you finish it tell me if its anygood. Currently i'm reading "The Utmost Savagery" on Tarawa, but i'm still about 30 pages into it, so it's still to early to tell, but it looks promissing. And i'm desperately waiting for George Nipe's "Decision in the Ukraine" to arrive, it's turning out to be my most wanted book. This is the third time that i order it, the first two the sellers had to refund me because apparently they didn't had it in stock anymore , maybe third time's the charm. It should arrive this week...... hopefully. Has anyone read it yet? I've always read very good and promissing reviews about it.
In the middle of both The Rising Tide and The Steel Wave, both by Jeff Shaara. Great books, the first two are about North Africa and Sicily, and the second is about D-Day and Normandy. The third book is expected to be finished in a couple years, tops.
Just finished this great book the idea of weaving in the role of the Irish in the 1st Airborne was really a good one and gave a different angle on a element of the Arnhem battle, the story of Patrick Morton and his mate Fitz, and Fitzs tragic death as they headed for the river could have made a book on its own.
Just got a small stack from Amazon: P-36 Aces of WWII Late Mark Spitfire Aces of WWII Lancaster Units (Part 2) of WWII The P-36 book is quite good, describing the French and Finnish fights against the Luftwaffe and the Soviets.
Two books I highly recommend for you if you haven't red them: Red Sun Setting by William T. Y'Blood and Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors by James D. Hornfischer Both are extremely well written, and hard to put down.
Im currently reading stumbling colussus by David Glantz. Im also thinking about ordering Mark Healy's Citadelle but as im currently reading David Glantz, the next book i read i want more pace. So is it wo0rth getting Mark Healy's book or perhaps should i go for something with more flow ? (eastern front) Ive got a book voucher and as Australian bookstores dont seem to stock Eastern Front titles I will have to order it, but i dont want to be dissapointed.
Over brekie this morning I read With Nothing Bigger Than A Bren Gun, excellent little account of the defence of the schoolhouse at the Arnhem road bridge.
Hello gentlemen, I'm reading 'Fields of fire, The Canadians in Normandy', by Terry Copp. Regards, I-16 Rata
R.Evans, I like your sig. I'm ex-USAF. We viewed the world as flying targets, floating targets, rolling targets, and running targets.
My copy of SKI Magazine hit the mailbox the other day! I'll read it cover to cover in anticipation of the new ski season. Soon the new Ski Utah vacation planner will be in, and to me, that's the beginning of ski season! Can't wait! (( )) (( )) (( )) (( ))
I'm about half way through The Brenner Assignment for David's author chat. Another great story that reads like a thriller.
